Sky Sports, revealed that Arsenal have finalised personal articles with Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before of his suggested switch to the Emirates this month.
The Gabon international has accepted to a three-and-a-half year contract with the north London outfit with wages of £183,000-a-week, which would make him the club’s highest-earner ahead of Mesut Ozil.
Arsene Wenger’s side have previously failed with an opening £44m bid for the ex-Saint-Etienne striker, and it seems that Dortmund are unlikely to allow the marksman’s sale except the club come close to their £53m valuation.
The 28-year-old was left out of Friday’s Bundesliga outing versus Hertha Berlin owing to him being disturbed, and his move to the Emirates seem to be creeping closer, though have seen lots of transfer delays in the past.
Alexandre Lacazette scored his first goal in over 45 days during the 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace yesterday, and it will be fascinating to see how Wenger would set up his side, should both the Frenchman and Aubameyang start.
As things stand, the club would potentially welcome two signings before the transfer deadline with Henrikh Mkhitaryan likely to be reunited with ex-teammate Aubameyang, a combination which caught the eye of Europe’s elite a couple of years ago.
