As per the reports from the Fotomac, Turkish giants Galatasaray are keen to sign Liverpool defensive midfielder Lucas Leiva on a free transfer despite the Brazilian having year remaining on his current contract.
It is also believed that the Merseyside club are keen to get Lucas off their books to free up wages as Liverpool head coach does not have plans for the 29-year-old enforcer next season.
Galatasaray are understood to be preparing €3m offer but have been pushing the Reds to loan Lucas with a buyout clause option.
The 20-times Turkey champions have to be careful with their spending over the summer and would rather pay the Reds a transfer fee at the end of the season.
According to the same sources, Galatasaray would be keen to pay his wages for the season. However they would be prepared to offer Lucas a contract deal worth €2.4m per-season.
The Brazilian star, who has joined the Anfield side nine years ago, is currently the most experienced player at Liverpool squad. The 29-year-old would become the second player of the Reds to join the Turkish club this summer after Martin Skrtel.
