According to The Times, Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte is determined to sign two highly-rated wing-backs, Michail Antonio from West Ham United and Jonas Hector from Cologne during the January transfer window.
The Italian tactician is surprisingly unconvinced by his current wing-back duo of Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses, who performed poorly in the club’s 2-0 loss against Tottenham Hotspur last week.
The Blues were comfortably beaten at White Hart Lane by the Spurs as their incredible 13-game winning streak came to an end, and Antonio Conte is believed to hold the view that his wing-backs may have peaked during that run.
As per the same sources, the Chelsea boss is now ready to replace both players in January as he lines up moves for West Ham midfielder Antonio and former Liverpool target Joas Hector.
The reports claim that Antonio is a priority target for Antonio Conte, while Cologne left-back Jonas Hector is also seen as a perfect upgrade for Marcos Alonso, who was seen as something of a panic buy late on in the summer.
Chelsea manager has already recalled Nathan Ake from his loan spell at Bournemouth to increase competition for places.
