According to the Spanish reports, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is keen on signing Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.
Arsenal thought they had the solution to their goalkeeping problems when they signed Petr Cech from the Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer of 2015.
However, the 35-year-old has divided the opinions during his time in north London, with many considering him to be past his prime.
As a result, talk has intensified that the Gunners could be set to invest in a new shot-stopper at the end of the current campaign.
And Spanish website Don Balon reports that Arsenal are one of three European giants keen on signing Barcelona’s Ter Stegen.
The Germany international has been at the Nou Camp since signing from Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer of 2014.
He was initially understudying to Claudio Bravo but, after the Chilean joined Manchester City last summer, has since made the step up to No1.
In the time since he has settled himself as one of the best goalkeepers in world football, helping the La Liga giants to win the Copa del Rey under Luis Enrique the last term.
The other European giants like Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are also mulling over summer bids.
The Serie A giants signed Wojciech Szczesny from Arsenal in the summer but Ter Stegen could still be a replacement for Gianluigi Buffon, who is set to retire.
PSG, meanwhile, want a fresh No1 with Kevin Trapp and Alphonse Areola not up to scratch.
