December 13, 2017

Arsenal, who are currently sitting in the 5th position in the Premier League are set to compete with Manchester United and Liverpool for Bundesliga’s midfielder from Schalke-Leon Goretzka.

The German international is out of contract at the end of the season and is free to sign a pre-contract with numbers of interested clubs in January.

The Gunners are experienced with having negotiations with German’s side, as they had a similar situation with former Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac last year and waited until the end of the season to make a deal with a Bosnian.

So Schalke would rather sell him to a buying club this winter than let him leave on a free.

According to the Sun, Arsene Wenger looks confident to pull off a similar deal again this time around with the Gunners closing in on an agreement with Goretzka.

The same report claim that The 22-year-old is keen on leaving the Bundesliga for a fresh challenge and Arsenal are confident of signing a deal for the playmaker next month.

Schalke man is possible to try his possibilities in a number of different positions in midfield and is considered to be one of the brightest talents to emerge out of Germany in recent years.
