Arsenal are ahead of Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester United in the race to sign a highly-rated Bundesliga midfielder Kai Havertz, according to a report.
A report from Britain claims that Arsene Wenger’s side have dispatched scouts to watch Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Kai Havertz in action for Germany U19s side during the International break.
Havertz became the youngest ever player to play for Bayer Leverkusen at senior level when he made his at the age of 17 and become their youngest ever goalscorer.
Reports last year suggested that Manchester United and Liverpool were on the verge to secure the services of 18-year-old, who has supposedly already visited the Merseyside Reds at Melwood last summer.
He only signed a new five-year deal with the German club back in July but the Premier League trio were said to have stepped up their interest to secure the services of the 18-year-old midfielder.
Manchester United are in the market for Michael Carrick’s long-term replacement, while Liverpool are also keeping tabs on Haaretz as a potential candidate to take over Emre Can’s place at Anfield.
Arsenal are also determined to replace Granit Xhaka and German wonderkid could be an ideal replacement for former Borussia Monchengladbach star.
