Arsenal handed boost as Barcelona cool their interest in highly-rated Ligue 1 star
Arsenal have been given a transfer boost in the pursuit to sign Lyon star Nabil Fekir at the end of the season.
The Frenchman has drawn attention to him over the past couple of seasons, and numerous European giants are believed to be keeping an eye on the 24-year-old’s development.
Apart from the Gunners, both Real Madrid and Barcelona have been associated with a move for the midfielder at the end of the current season.
Nonetheless, according to the news from Spain, it is assumed that Barca are no longer interested in the France international.
Even though the Gunners signed Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Manchester United last month, Arsene Wenger is believed to be still eager on adding Fekir.
Taking into account that there’s a big chance of the player being in France’s World Cup squad, the Gunners would be better off attempting to seal the transfer before the competition in Russia starts.
Fakir’s agent revealed to Telefoot last week an update regarding the player’s future beyond the current season.
“It’s too early to talk about it. We have time, that’s the straight line. After considering my relationship with Jean-Michel Aulas, we will make the best decision.”
