Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is reportedly preparing a summer move for Genk star Sander Berge.
The 19-year-old, who has also been linked with Everton, is believed to be rated at £18m by his Belgian side.
As reported by The Mirror, Arsenal officials have been watching the Norwegian’s displays since the start of 2017, and favourable stories have been returned to Wenger, who is now planning to make his move.
The youngster, who has been capped twice by Norway’s senior side, only joined Genk from Valerenga in January, securing a four-year deal at the Luminus Arena.
The Gunners are yet to spend in this summer’s transfer window, but the North Londoners have signed in 24-year-old defender Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer from Schalke 04.
Meanwhile, Arsenal and Roma make raised £13m offers for Turkish international target
The Gunners and Roma stepped up attempts to land Oguzhan Ozyakup after extending their offers to £13 million.
Turkish news outlet Fanatik report that both clubs have decided to match Besiktas’ asking fee for the central midfielder.
According to the source, Besiktas rejected previous approaches made by the North Londoners and Roma that did not meet their valuation.
The Istanbul side will consider £13 million proposals for their key man.
Ozyakup has just over 12 months left on his current deal, however, has yet to secure an extension.
The 24-year-old progressed through the youth system at Arsenal with Jack Wilshere and Francis Coquelin.
The ex-Arsenal star would have no work permit problems in regards to performing in England due to being born in the Netherlands.
The Turkish star joined Besiktas in 2012 to gain first-team football practice and has gone onto becoming the main player.
The Turkish ace played a massive role in the Black Eagles winning the league title for the last two campaigns.
The central midfielder netted five times and made ten assists in all tournaments for the Istanbul side in all tournaments this season.
The midfielder has one goal in 26 international matches for Turkey.
