According to the reports, La Liga giants Barcelona have reportedly made initial enquiries about signing Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen.
The Catalan club are currently cash-rich following the recent world-record transfer of Neymar to Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain for a figure of almost £200m.
Club’s new head coach Ernesto Valverde had been chasing Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho as a player to fill Neymar’s offensive void, having multiple bids turned away by the Merseyside club in the process.
The reports from The Independent claim that Liverpool’s stubborn stance was stressed once more this morning in a statement making clear that the Brazilian attacking midfielder will be going nowhere this summer, prompting Barca’s gaze to fall on Eriksen.
It is believed that it may take in excess of £100m to prise the Spurs maestro from the London club, who are yet to make any new signings this summer.
Barcelona’s another alternative of Philippe Coutinho is Borussia Dortmund attacker Ousmane Dembele.
