According to the latest transfer news from Spanish media, La Liga reigning champions Real Madrid are preparing a raid for Chelsea centre-back David Luiz. Don Balon claim that the Los Blancos are serious suitors for his signature.
It is believed that club president Florentino Perez is keen to pair the Brazilian with Sergio Ramos in defence. David Luiz is currently sidelined with a knee problem.
However, the centre-back’s issues at Stamford Bridge aren’t just fitness related.
Antonio Conte axed the 30-year-old defender from his squad last month after a spat between the two. And the Brazil international has since been linked with an impending departure.
During his interview, the Italian manager was asked whether Luiz is content at Stamford Bridge.
The former Juventus boss said: “I think now is not the right moment to speak about this.
“There are a lot of games before the transfer window and now is not the right time this is not important.”
Chelsea could cope if Luiz is sold in the New Year. Andreas Christensen has impressed since returning to the club in the summer and is regarded as a rising star.
