Chelsea £33m star suffers from foot injury during international break

November 11, 2017

According to the reports, Chelsea have received a massive blow ahead of a return to action after the international break with club striker Michy Batshuayi having suffered a foot injury while with Belgium.

The 24-year-old striker had been selected in the squad to face Japan and Mexico, and Batshuayi would have hoped for more game time after making just five starts for the Blues this season.

However, the Belgian has been forced to return to Chelsea after picking up an injury during the early part of training for his nation’s upcoming fixtures.

He has already undergone an X-ray, but the ex-Marseille attacker will have further checks in the coming days.

From November 18 through to the end of the month, the Blues face matches with West Bromwich Albion, Qarabag FK, Liverpool and Swansea respectively.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan are interested in signing Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen.

The 21-year-old centre-back returned to Stamford Bridge during the summer after spending two years on loan with Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach.

Andreas Christensen has already made six Premier League appearances for the Blues this season, while he has also appeared in three of their four Champions League matches.

The same sources claim that the Denmark international has impressed Inter with his performances in the early stages of the 2017-18 season, and the Italian giants are considering making an approach in the January transfer window.

Christensen joined Chelsea’s youth system from Brondby in 2012.
