According to the latest reports, Chelsea are in real danger of losing their dream transfer target from Real Madrid Gareth Bale to their direct rivals Manchester United.
The Red Devils hopes of signing the Welshman have reportedly been handed a boost by Los Blancos placing an £85m price tag on the winger.
Man United have been heavily linked with a move for the ex-Tottenham star in recent transfer windows but have so far been unable to prise him away from the Santiago Bernabeu, with Madrid previously unwilling to entertain offers.
However, the recent reports claim that the La Liga champions have become increasingly exasperated by Bale’s injury record and are now considering to sell the 28-year-old.
The Wales international has recently been sidelined by a calf injury but last week picked up a thigh problem which could keep him out for the rest of the year.
Madrid will now reportedly accept offers of £85m for their No.11, who cost Spanish giants a similar amount when he joined from Tottenham Hotspur in a then-world record deal back in 2013.
However, Man United are likely to face tough competition for his signature from other Premier League clubs with Chelsea are also among the interested parties.
