According to the latest transfer news, Chelsea are in talks with Serie A outfit Atalanta over the potential transfer of their key player Franck Kessie, who has been demanded by another Premier League top clubs, including Arsenal.
The highly-rated box-to-box midfielder is one of the most demanded players during the January transfer window, with his agent recently revealing there is interest from several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal.
A transfer fee of around £21m has been mooted for the 20-year-old youngster who has bagged six goals in 16 Serie A matches this term.
Atalanta are undoubtedly not willing to sell Kessie, while the player himself is now in Gabon for the African Cup of Nations representing Ivory Coast, which could complicate proceedings.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte confirmed recently that his side are looking to bolster their squad in January transfer window – but conceded it might not be easy to bring in the players they want.
During his interview, the Italian tactician said: ‘There are some positions that, if we are able to find a resolution, it’s important to take a good solution.
‘This championship is long and important but, also, I know the difficultly of the January market and finding the right players. It won’t be easy but, for sure, we are talking about this.’
