According to the reports from Daily Star, Chelsea have sent scouts to monitor Sporting Gijon cente-back Jorge Mere ahead of the potential move in the summer transfer window.
The same sources suggest that the Premier League champions are monitoring the 20-year-old’s progress, while the Spanish club are open to a deal this summer.
Jorge Mere has a £25m release clause in his current contract deal but it’s claimed that Sporting Gijon could be open to a cheaper deal if they are relegated this season.
The talented Spaniard has made his La Liga debut back in September 2015 while he was part of Spain’s Under-19 squad which won the European Championship earlier that year.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are chasing for the signature of Juventus full-back Alex Sandro, but the Serie A champions are willing to allow Brazilian join Chelsea this summer if clubs meet his £61m asking price.
The 26-year-old star is mentioned as a target for Man City, but has also been linked several times with the Blues as they appear to be in the market for another wing-back ideal for Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 formation.
Sandro has established himself as one of the key players for the Old Lady in the last couple of seasons, but Juve are still understood to be willing to cash in on him if the right offer comes in this summer.
As per the Tuttosport, it would take a £61 offer from the likes of Chelsea or Man City to let the Brazil international move on.
