According to the latest transfer news, Chelsea and Manchester United both sent scouts to watch Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri in action in the Europa League, as speculation mounts over his future.
The Ivory international was close to a £36m move to Barcelona last summer, but a deal fell through days before the deadline of the transfer window. After continuing to impress for Ligue 1 outfit, clubs across Europe are eyeing the talented midfielder.
And as per the RMC, Chelsea and Man United were among the clubs sending officials to cast their eye over him during Nice’s Europa League clash with Lokomotiv Moscow.
Scouts from Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur, Lyon, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Inter Milan were also in attendance as they kept a close eye on Nice’s talented crop of players.
Centre-back Malang Sarr, 19, is another player being closely watched by Barcelona as they prepare for a raid on the Ligue 1 side.
However, they face serious competition to land 26-year-old Seri. Chelsea are keen to sign the dynamic midfielder after Tiemoue Bakayoko’s disappointing first season in English football, while Manchester United consider Seri as an ideal candidate to join Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba in a midfield three.
