Chelsea launch bid for 22-year-old free kick specialist

According to the latest transfer news, Chelsea have launched a transfer bid to sign Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, who has been Antonio Conte’s reported target for the January transfer window.

It is believed that Chelsea manager is in the market for a top-class playmaker after Oscar sealed a club record £60m move to Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai SIPG.

The reports from Turkish-Football claim that the Blues have made a surprise January bid for 22-year-old Calhanoglu, with Antonio Conte increasingly keen on bringing the Bundesliga  free kick specialist to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have been closely monitoring the highly-rated Turkey international, who has been a standout performer for Bayer Leverkusen this season, and he greatly impressed club scouts.

However, it appears the west London giants could come up against competition from Premier League rivals, as Manchester United are also desperate to get the midfielder’s signature.

And the Turkish star even admitted it would be hard to snub the offer from Man United, telling Lig Tv: Barcelona and United are huge clubs it would be difficult to reject their offers.

He said: ‘But I have not said anything about any transfers or anything of the sort.’

Agent confirms: Chelsea are in talks for €35m box-to-box midfielder

According to the agent of Atalanta star Franck Kessie, his client is in talks with Premier League giants Chelsea over a January move to Stamford Bridge.

The 20-year-old Serie A breakout star has enjoyed a stunning season for his side as he managed to score seven goals from defensive midfield in all competitions.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is reportedly a huge admirer of the Ivory Coast international after watching him in action numerous times as Juventus manager.

And the agent of the player, George Atangana, claim he is in discussions with the Blues over a transfer.

During his interview with the Guardian, Atangana said: ‘Chelsea are very interested and it is a great club but we must take our time to consider all the options.

‘Now we are in January so he has to play at the Africa Cup of Nations for Ivory Coast so I am not going to rush anything.

‘We have a lot of interest from the Premier League. I cannot say at this stage how much he will cost but we are talking about one of the best young players in the world.’

Atalanta are expected to sell their most talented player for a massive transfer fee, after placing a €35-40m price tag on Franck Kessie.

Chelsea £150,000-a-week superstar could seal shock move to Bournemouth

According to the latest transfer news from English media, Chelsea iconic captain John Terry is linked with a shock transfer move to AFC Bournemouth.

The former England international has made just his ninth appearance of the season last Sunday, but has put further chances in doubt by receiving a red card in the FA Cup third round match versus Peterbrough.

As a result, the reports from Daily Telegraph claim that Bournemouth are showing a strong interest in taking the veteran superstar on loan for the rest of the current campaign.

The decision of Chelsea to recall Nathan Ake from his loan spell has had a double effect on the possibility of this move, both leaving John Terry with more competition for a place at Chelsea and Eddie Howe a defender short on the south coast.

A loan move could make sense for both clubs, although it may also mean the end of the Englishman’s career with the west London club.

The 36-year-old former England international has made 711 apps for the Stamford Bridge club since making his debut back in 1998.

The Blues are unlikely to offer him another contract deal with his first team role becoming smaller by the day, but could attempt to keep the club legend on as a coach.
