Chelsea Set to Ruin Pep Guardiola’s Transfer Plans By Signing 26-year-old Midfield Dynamo

July 10, 2018

Chelsea are reportedly planning to make a move for Napoli playmaker Jorginho as his proposed move to Man City continues to drag on.

The Citizens have been rumoured with Brazilian-born midfielder throughout the current transfer window after head-coach Pep Guardiola identified him as his number No.1 midfield option this summer.

Jorginho is believed to have agreed personal terms with Man City, however, discussions are still ongoing between the two teams as Napoli refuse to lower their price for Italy international star.

Man City are believed to value Jorginho at around £35m, where as Napoli want closer to £53m despite having already signed him Fabian Luiz as his long-term replacement.

The Manchester Evening News reports that the Blues have now entered the race for 26-year-old midfielder signature and could look to hijack the Citizens move for his signature.

Reports that the Citizens and Serie A giants Napoli had agreed on a £48m deal last term proved to be premature, although Man City remain Jorginho’s preferred destination.

The 26-year-old midfielder has been left out of Napoli’s pre-season team amid the rumours over his future.
