According to the reports, Chelsea are still chasing for the signature of Schalke 04 midfielder Leon Goretzka, but it is believed that Liverpool have won the race to sign him in January.
The German international is enjoying a growing reputation in Bundesliga and has been stronly linked with a move to the Premier League in the past.
The likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have all been credited with an interest in the 22-year-old midfielder, but Spanish publication Don Balon reports that Liverpool have beaten their Premier League rivals to his signature.
Goretzka will reportedly join the Merseyside club in January, with the player having turned down the chance to move to Catalan giants Barcelona due to being unimpressed with their contract offer.
Any deal to sign the German No.8 star could open the door for Philippe Coutinho to leave Liverpool for Barca or PSG, though.
Goretzka has scored four goals in nine Bundesliga appearances for Schalke so far this season.
Meanwhile, Alvaro Morata has reportedly advised Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte to make a move for Everton striker Sandro Ramirez.
Asper the Don Balon, Alvaro Morata believes that Ramirez, with whom he has a good friendship, would be the ideal forward to have in Chelsea’s ranks.
The 22-year-old Ramirez moved to Everton in the summer from Malaga for a £5.2m transfer fee, but has struggled for form having failed to score in 11 appearances so far this season.
