After the latest rumours and speculations linking Fenerbahce centre-back Simon Kjaer to Chelsea, have been rubbished by the official statement of the Turkish club, where they claim that no offer came from the Premier League leaders.
Various reports claim that Antonio Conte is weighing up a £16m bid for Simon Kjaer, with the Italian head coach keen to bring defensive reinforcements to west London in January transfer window.
However, the 27-year-old Kjaer, who has also been linked with a move to Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Manchester United in recent weeks, appears to be going nowhere after the Turkish side suggested the recent speculation was unfounded.
An official statement of Fenerbahce says: ‘A number of recent reports have falsely claimed that Chelsea have made an offer for our Danish player Simon Kjaer.’
‘Fenerbahce have not received any offers whatsoever for Kjaer and any claims suggesting a transfer could take place are wrong.’
‘Kjaer is a happy and successful member of our team. We would like to ask our fans to disregard such lies and manipulative reports that aim to disrupt our team.’ Says the statement.
