It seems like Manchester United have handed a massive transfer blow, as the Red Devils target midfielder Isco will reject interest from Jose Mourinho’s side in order to sign a new contract deal with Real Madrid.
The La Liga giants are desperate for Isco to pen a new deal as Premier League rivals eye his availability. The Spanish maestro is out of contract this summer, meaning he could begin talks over a free transfer as early as January.
As per The Sun, Premier League duo Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are keen to get their hands on the creative Spaniard. But Real Madrid president Florentino Perez insists the player will sign fresh terms.
During his interview with Cadena SER, Perez said: “Isco arrived here when he was very young and all he has done is improve. He is currently playing as we believed he would turn out.
“We will be announcing his contract renewal in the coming days, a renewal which is a done deal.”
The Sun claim Isco is a long-term target of Tottenham, who laboured to sign players during the transfer window.
United got all their business done before the start of the season and, while they were open to securing one more signing, Isco was never a realistic option this summer.
