Napoli are planning to give Jorginho a new bumper deal in an attempt to prevent Arsenal and Manchester United from signing the Brazilian born midfielder.
Gazzetta dello Sport reported that the Italian team have been so impressed with the midfielder’s fine form this campaign that they want to reward him with a new bumper deal.
His current contract set to expire in 2020, however, they want to extend his stay at Stadio Sao Paolo until 2023. If they do so Jorginho will likely to end his career with the Italian club.
Arsenal and Man Utd are following the 26-year-old star ahead of a potential summer switch, according to reports earlier this week. His agent revealed it’s a possibility that his client will make a move to English top tier after the end of the current campaign.
The 26-year-old midfielder has started 24 of Napoli’s 27 league games this campaign, helping them to remain on top of the Serie A table. They’re currently one point behind of Juventus who have one game in hand as well.
The Italy international could be just the kind of player that Gunners need at the moment. He is a very strong passer and would be a perfect replacement for Granit Xhaka who has flopped at Emirates Stadium.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are also seen Jorginho as a perfect replacement for Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini.
