Done Deal: Man United 24-year-old ace leaves Old Trafford

August 13, 2017

Manchester United have already announced the departure of Guillermo Varela, who has left the club and rejoined Uruguayan club Penarol on a permanent deal.

The 24-year-old defender became Man United’s first signing under former manager David Moyes after impressing the club with his appearances at the South American Youth Championship, leading the Red Devils to first offer a trial to the defender, before handing the full-back a five-year deal.

Varela failed to impress following his move to the Theatre of Dreams, however, after making just 11 appearances prior to Jose Mourinho deciding to move the South American out on loan to Eintracht Frankfurt last season.

The Old Trafford side have now announced that the Uruguayan will return to his homeland in order to join the side that he left in 2013.

Meanwhile, United have launched a move for Paris St-Germain holding midfielder Blaise Matuidi.

The 30-year-oold France international currently earns around £610,000-per-month after tax (€698,000) but the Red Devils chiefs have offered him more cash to make the move to Manchester.

And, according to Twitter feed PSG United, Matuidi either wants to sign an extension with guarantees of a key role or a move away from the League 1 club.
