Everton are ‘on the brink’ of announcing the signing of Malaga striker Sandro Ramirez, with Sky Sports claiming that the Toffees have beaten Juventus to the star’s hand.
The Goodison Park outfit have money to spend this summer and Ronald Koeman has admitted that he will be aggressive in bringing new players to Merseyside – with the ultimate goal a Premier League top-six challenge.
Everton have already announced the big-money additions of Jordan Pickford and Davy Klaassen, with the pair seemingly set to be joined by Sandro in the near future.
The former Barcelona forward has starred at Malaga over the last 12 months and according to the report has a £5.25 million release clause in his contract with the La Liga outfit – which the Toffees have met.
Koeman has stated that he wants to bring players to Everton that can contribute goals to the team and subsequently take some of the pressure off Romelu Lukaku’s shoulders.
Sandro would certainly fit the bill in this regard, with the 21-year-old netting 14 times in La Liga last season in 28 starts for Malaga.
Versatile enough to play across the forward line, the Spaniard could be an out-and-out striker for Everton or a support player for Lukaku if he remains at the Premier League side.
Sandro is currently on under-21 international duty with Spain but it is looking likely that the Toffees could announce his signature as early as Sunday.
