It has been reported by the Spanish publication Foot Mercato that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is considering making a shock move for Marseille defensive midfielderLassana Diarra in January transfer window.
The 31-year-old Diarra came through the ranks at Stamford Bridge under Jose Mourinho and played for him again during his time at Real Madrid.
Diarra has been off the radar since leaving the La Liga giants back in 2012, when he agreed to leave the Santiago Bernabeu on a big-money deal for Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala.
A troubled spell at Lokomotiv Moscow followed, where he was released in 2014 for refusing to train and fined £8.5m by Fifa for breach of contract.
And now, the Portuguese manager is considering the French midfielder as the potential replacement of Morgan Schneiderlin, who has been heavily linked with a departure from the Old Trafford in January.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are preparing a £35m bid for Benfica’s highly-regarded right-back Nelson Semedo, who has been linked with a departure from the club due to his impressive performances.
The same sources also claim that Man United are negotiating with the Portuguese giants but the club are reluctant to let the talented defender leave before the end of the campaign.
The Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho reportedly considering Nelson Semedo as the long-term successor on the right-back position at Man United.
