According to reports in France, Manchester United are reportedly ready to swoop for Monaco star Fabinho when the transfer window re-opens in January.
The 23-year-old midfielder was very much on Jose Mourinho’s radar in the summer, but the Red Devils manager decided to sign Nemanja Matic from Chelsea in a £40m deal instead of him.
However, the Portuguese boss is said to have remained keen on the versatile Brazilian star and is ready to make his signing his top focus in the January transfer window. The United boss has seen his central midfield suffered by injuries this season, with the Belgium international Marouane Fellaini joining Paul Pogba on the sidelines.
It’s claimed the signing of Fabinho has been made No one focus and has finally been given the green light by the League 1 champions Monaco, with the player providing valuable cover to United in both midfield and at right full-back.
And with Monaco struggling in the Champions League, Le10 Sport suggests that the defending Ligue 1 champions will let Fabinho leave if they receive their €55m asking price.
Fabinho joined Monaco in summer of 2013. He played in 190 games so far and scored 23 goals for the club. The Brazilian international won the League 1 title last season with Monaco.
