According to the reports, Manchester United are confident of announcing a deal for Spanish striker Alvaro Morata imminently, though Jose Mourinho desperate to bolster his strike force even further in the summer transfer window.
With the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic already confirmed, and Wayne Rooney expected to leave the Old Trafford this summer, Man United believe they need to sign two new strikers.
It is understood that Jose Mourinho’s side have already agreed terms with Alvaro Morata and believe a £60m transfer deal will be wrapped up shortly, though he will not be United’s most expensive signing of the window.
The reports from Independent claim that Man United are also closing in on a £70m deal for Torino ace Andrea Belotti, though the deal could take a little longer to wrap up.
The Italian club are holding out for a fee closer to the 23-year-old’s £84m buy-out clause, though the Red Devils believe they can negotiate a lower price.
The arrival of the two top-class forward would significantly bolster Man United’s attacking options next campaign, giving them Morata, Belotti, Rashford and Martial.
Andrea Belotti was the second highest scorer in Serie A last term, scoring 26 goals, while the 24-year-old Alvaro Morata netted 15 times – second only to Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid squad – at a rate of a goal every 81 minutes.
