According to the Bleacher Reports, Liverpool are ready challenge European giants in the hot race for AS Monaco’s highly-rated winger Thomas Lemar, who has been in stunning form for the League 1 leaders this season.
The same sources claim that how both Liverpool and Premier League leaders Chelsea are keeping closer tabs on the 21-year-old Lemar.
The reports also suggest that La Liga giants Atletico Madrid have shown interest in the past in a player likely to be costly if Monaco agree to a sale: “It’s suggested La Liga heavyweights Atletico Madrid lodged a £22.5m offer last summer.”
It’s not a surprise that Monaco are not willing to sell one of their most talented young players. Lemar is a midfielder blessed with pace, energy, strength and class on the ball.
The young Frenchman is versatile and also able to operate both centrally and out wide. The latter may be where he’s most suited since his delivery from the flanks can be deadly.
Alongside Thomas Lemar, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is also monitoring other highly-rated players from League 1, including Lyons’ Alexander Lacazette, PSG youngster Mahamadou Dembele and Bordeaux Brazilian striker Malcom.
