Leicester City are reportedly planning to offer England international defender Harry Maguire a bumper new contract in an attempt to fend off interest from Liverpool and Manchester United.
The 25-year-old centre-back who has four years left on his current deal at the King Power Stadium after joining the Foxes last summer.
Maguire has been an integral part of England’s squad run to the semi-finals of the tournament, leading to speculation that the likes of Tottenham Hopsur Manchester United and Liverpool are interested to secure his services.
But, the Leicester Mercury reports that the Foxes are willing to make English centre-back one of the highest earners at the Foxes following the exit of Riyad Mahrez, who has made the switch to defending Premier League champions Man City.
Jamie Vardy – who could also be in line for a new deal this summer – and the Foxes stopper Kaspar Schmeichel are currently the top earners at King Power Stadium, and Maguire is now expected to be offered a bumper deal which would match them.
Maguire played every minute of every Premier League game for the Foxes last term.
