Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants to meet with France international forward Ousmane Dembele’s mother in a bid to convince the 21-year-old forward to make Anfield move this summer.
The Catalan giants striker is a long-term transfer target of Jurgen Klopp. However, there are numerous obstacles in the Reds boss’ way.
Dembele is unsure whether leaving the Spanish giants after just 12 months would make sense, while the Merseyside Reds chiefs have told Klopp a £88m move could be difficult to get the deal done.
Despite this, Klopp wants to talk to French forwards mother to see if he can get her on side when it comes to Anfield switch, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Jurgen Klopp’s side believes they would need to sell Mohamed Salah in order to secure the services of Dembele, while the 21-year-old is not convinced he would be guaranteed to secure first-team football at Anfield.
Klopp will also speak directly to Barcelona star, who he has been watching closely since Frenchman signed for Borussia Dortmund.
Dembele left the Bundesliga outfits after just one campaign in Germany to become Barcelona’s marquee signing last season and enjoyed a good first year despite injury woes.
The 21-year-old winger found back of the net just four times and provided nine assists in just 24 games.
The Catalan giants still rate the youngster highly, however, the arrival of Antoine Griezmann this summer could see him leaving Nou Camp.
