LIVERPOOL have not agreed to sign France international midfielder Nabil Fekir – but are keen on to get the deal done for Lyon star ahead of the world cup tournament.
Fekir has enjoyed a superb 2017/18 season in France, scoring 23 goals in 39 games for Lyon.
The 24-year-old’s fine form has seen him linked with a host of European giants including Barcelona, PSG, Liverpool and Chelsea.
Reports circulated last week that the Merseyside Reds had already struck a £60m deal for Frenchman.
However, the Liverpool Echo reports that this is not the case and added that negotiations yet to be opened with the Ligue 1 giants.
But they add that Jurgen Klopp’s side have kept a close eye on Fekir’s progress all season long and are interested ot lure him at Anfield for the next season.
The 24-year-old forward who has had a stunning 2017/18 season is expected to follow his national team in Russia for the world-cup 2018 tournament.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are also believed to be interested with another French forward Thomas Lemar whose move to Anfield has been blocked last summer by Leonardo Jardim.
