Liverpool experienced midfielder Lucas Leiva has revealed his biggest regret during his 10 years spell at Merseyside club has been not winning more trophies.
The 29-year-old Lucas Leiva has joined the Reds back in 2007 from Brazilian club Gremio and has made almost 300 appearances for the Premier League club.
However, the only trophy the Brazilian enforcer has got his hands on has been the League Cup – the Merseyside giants won the trophy back in 2012 with a penalty shootout win versus Cardiff City.
And the defensive midfielder admits he hoped to win more at Anfield, although he insists his Liverpool journey has been ‘fantastic’.
During his interview with Liverpool ECHO, Leiva said: ‘It’s been a fantastic journey. A very hard one I’d say, but I am very proud of what I’ve achieved and I still have a lot more to achieve here.
‘A journey of 10 years will always have a lot of ups and downs. There have been happy and sad moments.
‘I’d like to have won more things but you have to keep trying and keep fighting. Hopefully in the end there will be more trophies and it will all be positive.
‘I know I have respect from the fans and from everyone at the club and that’s what you aim for as well.’
