The agent of Freiburg centre-back Caglar Soyuncu has confirmed that his client is in ‘concrete talks’ with Premier League igants Arsenal over a move to the Emirates.
Soyuncu has played 55 games for Bundesliga outfits since joining them back in 2016, however, the 22-year-old defender is being heavily linked with Premier League giants Liverpool and Arsenal this summer.
The Turkey international is regarded as one of the brightest talents in Bundesliga and a move will not come cheap, with Freiburg valued him at £35million.
Soyuncu’s agent, Mustafa Dogru, confirmed the Merseyside Reds interest and also lifted the lid on Arsenal’s discussions for the youngster.
The Gunners head of recruitment, Sven Mislintat, has been aware of Soyuncu’s talent and ket cloe tabs on Turkish wonderkid since his time at Dortmund.
‘He first scouted him back in Germany. Sven is interested in Caglar, there are concrete talks, all that remains is for a fee to be agreed. We will see what happens next.’
‘What I will say regarding the Liverpool link is that there were four to five Premier League clubs scouting him over the international break.’
Dogru admitted that hosts of European teams are keen on Soyuncu however, believes the defender is most suited to English football.
‘There are four Premier League sides who’ve made a move for Soyuncu, that we are in talks with,’ he added.
‘There is also interest from Atletico Madrid in Spain and a few clubs in France, Italy and Germany.
