Liverpool in danger to miss out signing of world-class no.3

MANCHESTER UNITED are favourites to sign Liverpool’s long-term target Stefan de Vrij, according to the Bookies.

The 26-year-old centre-back has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool all summer long.

Both United and Liverpool are said to be keeping tabs on Dutch defender ahead of a summer move.

And the bookies are tipping De Vrij to make a switch to Old Trafford.

BetStars spokesman Ian Marmion said: “Lazio’s in-demand defender, Stefan de Vrij is available on a free transfer this summer which has put a host of Europe’s elite clubs on red alert.

“Manchester United have leapfrogged their rivals Liverpool in the race for the Dutchman’s signature, who is keen for a new start in England.

“Jose Mourinho is on the lookout for defenders to bolster his back-line this summer and United are now the odds-on favourites at 5/6 to land the Serie A star, while Inter Milan follow closely behind at 6/5.

“Meanwhile, Liverpool have drifted to 3/1 to reunite De Vrij with his Dutch compatriot and the Reds’ record-signing Virgil van Dijk in central defence at Anfield.”

Jose Mourinho’s side have been eliminated from the Champions League by Spanish outfits Sevilla, while Liverpool have qualified for the next round and it could give Jurgen Klopp’s side advantage over Man Utd to lure him at Anfield.
