Liverpool in three way battle to sign the 17-year-old wonderkid

August 22, 2017

Liverpool are fighting with Ajax, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund for youngster Perr Schuurs.

The defender is considered as one of the hottest prospects in Dutch football and, despite being only 17, he is already skipper of second division side Fortuna Sittard.

Plenty of sides have been alerted to the youngster’s talent, and scouts have been to observe him on a weekly basis.

The Reds even took Schuurs on trial earlier this term and the Reds would love to sign him permanently.

However, according to De Telegraaf, they will have to fight off opposition from Ajax, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund if they want to sign the teenager this summer.

The trio have joined Liverpool in the hunt for Schuurs, and they are set to fight for his services too.

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s hopes of landing Jean Seri seem to have been dashed as stories suggest the Ivory Coast star is ready to join Barcelona.

Arsene Wenger is a long-term admirer of the Nice star, and informal negotiations have taken place this summer between the North Londoners and the Ligue 1 giants.

But no offer has been made, with Arsenal unwilling to meet Seri’s £33 million buys out clause.

Liverpool have also been monitoring the 26-year-old, with recent stories suggesting Jurgen Klopp was about to make his move in an offer to sign the sought-after midfielder.

La Liga giants were linked earlier in the window. However, their interest looked to have cooled after they landed ex-Spurs star Paulinho from Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande.

The stories in Spain, however, suggest that the La Liga giants have re between their interest as they look to answer following their strong Super Cup defeat to rivals Real Madrid.

Coutinho was their main target. However, Liverpool are declining to part with the Brazilian star.

And El Mundo Deportivo now suggests that Barcelona have stepped up negotiations with Nice over Seri and a deal could be finalized in the coming days.
