As per the Daily Mirror, the Premier League title runner-ups Tottenham Hotspur have made an approach to sign Liverpool out-of-favour defender Mamadou Sakho this summer.
The 27-year-old Frenchman was frozen out at Liverpool after clashing with the manager Jurgen Klopp last summer.
Sakho didn’t play a single minute for the Merseyside giants before being shipped out on loan to Crystal Palace last January. The Frenchman impressed during his short time at Selhurst Park.
He played a crucial role in helping the Eagles retain their Premier League status with a series of convincing defensive performances.
It is believed that Sakho is currently on holiday with his family in Tanzania. He will then return to Liverpool with three years left to run on his contract.
Back in April, the former PSG star pleaded with Jurgen Klopp to give him a second chance at Anfield.
Sakho said: “I still have a contract for three more years. If I were to wear the Liverpool jersey again, I would be happy to do so.
“I was late for training, something that happens everywhere. I paid a fine and I do not know what else I can do.
“It is up to the boss. He makes the decisions and I can only accept that. And we will see what happens if my future is elsewhere.”
