Back in May, it was reported that Liverpool were prepared to hire the services of Julian Brandt with whom Bayer Leverkusen signed a new contract (in April) only to get rid of his very low release clause.
As per the latest update, the Bundesliga giants source has told that the Reds will now move to sign the €60 million-rated attacker soon. The source has also stated that the Merseysiders followed his World Cup displays and have been impressed.
Joachim Low opted to select Brandt over Premier League champion Leroy Sane for the World Cup, and although the Leverkusen star only played for 20 minutes in 3 matches, he was one of brightest attackers for the four-time champions.
The 22-year-old German international was introduced late in the opening game against Mexico (played 5 minutes) and came closest to scoring for his team with a brilliant right foot volley that brushed past the post.
Last season, the versatile attacker featured in 34 league games for the German outfit, scored nine goals and provided five assists. His skill to manoeuvre in spaces with both feet and the versatility to play in multiple attacking positions should make him a top signing for Liverpool if they can lure him.
