Deal Close: Klopp’s dream target set to pass medical after agreeing £39m deal
According to the reports from Egypt, AS Roma star Mohamed Salah will undergo a medical with Liverpool this week after a £39m transfer fee was agreed with the Serie A giants.
Last Saturday, KingFut suggested that the Merseyside giants had launched a new €45m (£39.4m) offer for the 25-year-old after accepting that the AS Roma would not lower their valuation.
The same sources have since claimed that the offer has been accepted by the Italian club following negotiations with the winger’s agent, Ramy Abbas, in London.
Liverpool have been in talks with the Stadio Olimpico side since the start of June after their initial £28m offer was rejected.
Despite the need to sell a valuable player in order to meet Financial Fair Play rules, AS Roma were adamant that the explosive attacker would not be allowed to leave for a cut-price fee.
But Jurgen Klopp’s side are now on the verge of setting a new club record transfer as Salah’s fee will overtake the £35m spent to sign Andy Carroll from Newcastle United in January 2011.
Mohamed Salah will arrive at Anfield off the back of an impressive season for Roma in which he managed to score 15 goals and provided 11 assists in 31 league appearances.
World-class No.17 open to seal £61m Liverpool move
According to the French media outlets, Borussia Dortmund superstar Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is open to seal summer transfer move to Liverpool.
The 28-year-old explosive striker has managed to score 120 goals in 189 appearances for Borussia Dortmund since joining the Bundesliga club but the former Saint-Etienne ace is being strongly linked with a move away from the Signal Iduna Park ahead of the 2017/18 season.
The reports from Le Parisien claim that Liverpool are willing to pay out the £61mi for Aubameyang in the coming months and the striker is ready to sign for the Merseyside giants.
Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp brought the Gabon international to Dortmund back in 2013 and Aubameyang is intrigued by the possibility of working under the manager once again at Anfield.
The same sources suggest that Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain remain interested in Aubameyang but it’s believed Liverpool’s project is most appealing to the forward.
The Merseyside giants are also closing in on a deal for AS Roma attacker Mohamed Salah, with the Egypt international expected to undergo a medical with the Premier League giants next week.
Liverpool have been in negotiations with Roma since the beginning of June after their initial £28m bid for Salah was turned down.
Liverpool have entered the race for 14-goals League 1 champion
According to the reports from French media outlet Telefoot, Liverpool have entered the race to sign AS Monaco ace Thomas Lemar, who has been heavily linked with a departure from League 1 champions in the summer transfer window.
SkyBet have Tottenham Hotspur as clear favourites to sign the 21-year-old Lemar at 10/11, with rivals Arsenal following at 9/2.
But Telefoot suggests that Liverpool are one of four teams who have now expressed interest in the French midfielder, along with Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Italian champions Juventus.
The Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris was coy last week when quizzed after France’s international fixture if he had been trying to persuade Lemar to join him at Tottenham, The Telegraph reported.
Lemar has managed to score 14 goals and registered 14 assists last season, a prolific season as he helped Monaco win the Ligue 1 title and reach the Champions League semi-finals.
Liverpool have been pushing to sign AS Roma wing star Mohamed Salah but have been unable to reach an agreement for the winger so far. Thomas Lemar is a quality alternative for the Merseyside giants to be considering.
