According to the reports in Brazil, Liverpool have stepped up their transfer interest in Gremio forward Luan.
The Brazilian attacker has caught the attention of top European clubs after an excellent 2016/17 campaign with Gremio. Eleven goals and five assists in 22 appearances have promoted several clubs to keep tabs on the 24-year-old.
And Globo Esporte now claim that Merseyside giants have sent out a scouting delegation to Brazil to watch Luan in action.
Gremio played Godoy Cruz last Wednesday night in the Copa Libertadores and progressed with a 2-1 victory. Luan played 90 minutes and helped his club qualify for the quarter-finals with a 3-1 win over two legs.
The versatile striker, who can play as the centre-forward and on the wing, impressed for Gremio, setting up several chances for his team-mates.
It is believed that Russian giants Spartak Moscow have been linked with a move for Luan with some suggesting a £18m offer is being considered.
And Gremio vice-president Odorico Roman revealed that bids have been made for Gremio, but Liverpool had not made a formal approach.
Roman said: ‘I do not know of any other proposal. We had two firm approaches, from Sampdoria and Spartak. They were made, but Luan remains as a Gremio player at the moment.’
