As per the Metro, Liverpool have shown how much they value their out-of-favour defender Mamadou Sakho, despite the manager Jurgen Klopp freezing the centre-back out of his plans this term.
The 26-year-old Frenchman has not played for Liverpool first-team since April after first failing a drugs test and then irking Jurgen Klopp so much during Liverpool’s pre-season tour in the USA that he was sent home before the end of the tour.
With Mamadou Sakho currently training with the Reds’ Under-23 team and no sign of a return to the senior club, there is much speculation about him moving on during the current transfer window.
However, it has already been revealed that Merseyside giants value the 26-year-old defender at £20 million. The reports from BBC claim that nothing below that figure will be accepted. Jurgen Klopp’s side are in a strong position with the Frenchman having signed a long-term deal in 2015.
The same sources also suggest that the most recent talks are linked with Russian giants Spartak Moscow, who have launched a bid for the defender.
Alongside Spartalk Moscow, other European clubs are also showing interest in signing the former PSG star, including Southampton, Fenerbahce, Sevilla and Galatasaray alongside host of French clubs.
