Serie A champions Juventus have reportedly joined Liverpool in their pursuit of Sporting Lisbon attacker Gelson Martins.
The Portugal international forward also linked with a switch to Arsenal last summer, the 22-year-old winger is believed to have a £53.5m release clause in his current deal at Sporting Lisbon.
Portuguese outlet A Bola suggests that Merseyside Reds and the Gunners were put off by that figure in the Summer but could try to approach for his signature in January.
Liverpool and Arsenal now face competition from Serie A champions, however, as they were impressed by Martin’s performance in last month’s Champions League against them.
The report claims that Italian champions will continue to closely monitor Portuguese attacker over the next month, with an eye on making a concrete offer in the winter.
Meanwhile, Arsenal and Liverpool will also remain in the hunt for Martins and ready to rival Juventus in the signing of his signature.
Both Premier League giants are in real danger to lose their key player Philipe Coutinho and Alexis Sanchez for the next season and Gelson Martins has been identified as a potential replacement for Premier League duo.
