Man United 27-year-old star ready to quit club to join Atletico Madrid

As per the latest reports, La Liga giants Atletico Madrid have revived their interest in Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera and the Spaniard is keen to link up with Diego Simeone.

The 28-year-old Herrera is out of contract next summer and can begin negotiating with foreign clubs over a Bosman move in January, with talks over a new deal at Old Trafford proving unfruitful so far.

And the reports from Spanish publication AS claim that Atletico believe they can convince Ander Herrera to return to Spain and an agreement is nearly close.

Both Herrera and Simeone are keen for a deal to happen, with the Argentine manager convinced he is exactly what the Rojiblancos are missing in midfield at the moment.

Despite being named Man United’s Player of the Season for the last term, Ander Herrera found himself on the bench at the start of the latest season.

Jose Mourinho has favoured a midfield pairing of summer signing Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba, with only the latter’s injury giving Herrera an opportunity to return to the first team.
