Man United 30-year-old ace close to seal shock move to Arsenal

December 11, 2017

According to the bookies, Arsenal are favourites to sign unsettled Manchester United star Sergio Romero.

The South American goalkeeper has had to settle for a handful of appearances this term behind first-choice stopper David De Gea.

The Spaniard’s superb form as seen Sergio Romero feature in just six Premier League matches since joining the Red Devils from Sampdoria back in July 2015.

Bookmakers Ladbrokes believe the keeper could be heading out of Man United d in the near future and make the Gunners surprise favourites to get his signature.

The Ladbrokes’ Alex Apati said: “With David de Gea on the scene, Romero is never going to break into Mourinho’s first-team plans – and it now looks likely that Wenger will take advantage of the Argentine’s availability.”

Ladbrokes have Arsenal priced at 9/4 to sign the Argentine goalkeeper in January while his former club Sampdoria are at 16/5 and Villarreal at 5/1.

Romero featured in United’s 2-1 Champions League win over CSKA Moscow last week.

De Gea will start in goal in today’s huge Manchester derby as Mourinho’s men look to close the gap to Premier League leaders Manchester City.

But Romero could get more opportunities in the coming weeks as the Red Devils gear up for their hectic festive schedule.
