According to the latest transfer news, Manchester United and Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on Santos’ highly-rated forward Rodrygo.
The 17-year-old rising star burst onto the scene last month when he became the youngest goalscorer in the Copa Libertadores by finding the back of the net in his side’s 3-1 win over Nacional.
Rodrygo’s impressive displays for Santos so far have led to comparisons with former club favourite Neymar, with the teenager having scored his first goal for the Brazilian club at a younger age than Neymar managed.
The reports claim that Liverpool are believed to have been tracking Rodrygo for more than a year, while their Premier League rivals Manchester United have now joined the race and La Liga champions Barcelona are also interested in the Brazilian Under-17 international.
Rodrygo – who has been tipped to enjoy a brighter future than Real Madrid signing Vinicius Junior – has a release clause of £45m in his contract, but is unable to complete a transfer until his 18th birthday in January.
Alongside Rodrygo, the Red Devils are also closely monitoring Bordeaux 21-year-old Brazilian striker Malcom.
