Chelsea top summer target Tiemoue Bakayoko dropped a shocking hint this week that he was set to join Manchester United on Twitter – but quickly deleted the post.
The France international has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge and some reports even suggested he was set for a medical this week.
The AS Monaco star has attracted plenty of attention after an eye-catching season with the League 1 giants and is valued at around £40m by his club.
Chelsea appeared to be leading the race to sign the 22-year-old but he fueled speculation he could join Manchester United instead by commenting on a Twitter post on Tuesday.
Bakayoko replied: ‘Yes this’ or ‘Yes it’ in French to an article claiming he was joining the Red Devils but quickly deleted the post.
Chelsea supporters – understandably – are worried the Red Devils will gazump them for a second time this summer after Romelu Lukaku’s move to west London club was hijacked.
Man United had shown an interest in Chelsea ace Nemanja Matic but now doubt the Blues will sell the Serbian after the Red Devils secured Lukaku.
