Man United have to meet £42m asking price to sign 21-year-old goal machine

Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United all want to sign Sampdoria hitman Patrik Schick, according to reports in Italy.

The 6ft2 striker reportedly has a £21million release clause in his contract, but Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero says the club are hopeful of doubling his current release clause to £42m.

Italian bigwig told Il Secolo XIX:  “Schick improves every day.

“He has a release clause but we’d prefer to raise it or cancel it. I’m always in touch with his agent.

“Release clauses are imposed by agents but we’d like to raise it to £42m. Of course we’d need to offer Patrick a new deal but today’s release clause is just too low for a player like him.”

“I would advise him not to join Juventus because he wouldn’t be a regular starter, whilst he can become a top player if he spends another season here. I’ll try to convince him and his agent.”

He is best suited for the central forward spot, but could play the main striker role as well. Which bodes well for the English clubs who could upgrade their attacking options.
