According to El Gol Digital, Manchester United manager Mourinho has set his sights on Aaron Martin. The Espanyol defender has a €30 million release clause and United are ready to activate it.
Jose Mourinho is reportedly still not happy with the squad he has at the club and has sent his scouts to hunt for players. The one position the manager has made sure that he gets players for is the left full-back.
Martin made his senior debut for Espanyol in October of last year. He’s been a regular in the squad ever since and has impressed in all his outings. He’s also earned a call-up for Spain’s U21 already.
The Red Devils hunt for a left-back has landed them at RCD Espanyol. The Spanish club have Aaron Matins playing for them – a player who’s considered as one of the best youngsters in Spain.
The defender was a target for Real Madrid last summer but after the move for Thoe Hernandez materialized, they dropped their interest in him. The 20-year-old defender has also attracted interest from Barcelona and Manchester City as well.
Espanyol will have no chance of keeping him with such big clubs are interested in him. They would be trying to convince him to stay for the season or at least sign a new contract with the increased release clause.
