According to the Spanish media sources, Manchester United reportedly met with the agent of Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak recently as the Premier League giants step up their pursuit of the £85m release clause star.
Rumors that the Old Trafford club could replace David de Gea in goal in the summer transfer window seems to be hotting up, with speculation that Jose Mourinho is happy to let the Spain international go.
The 24-year-old Jan Oblak seems to be Man United’s first choice to replace De Gea, who has long been linked with a return to La Liga with Real Madrid desperate to get his signature.
The Red Devils could certainly do worse than land the Slovenia international as De Gea’s replacement, with the Atletico Madrid stara becoming regarded as one of the top shot-stoppers in Europe in recent times.
As per the reports from Manchester Evening News, the agent of Slovenian goalkeeper was in Manchester for transfer talks this week, though two other clubs may also be in the running to sign him this summer.
It is also believed that 26-year-old De Gea has put his house up for sale as his relationship with manager Mourinho seems to have soured.
