According to the reports, Manchester United are plotting a January move for Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred.

The 24-year-old Brazilian has been in brilliant form for the Ukrainian giants, who look like a solid bet to secure runners-up place behind the current Premier League leaders Manchester City in Champions League Group F.

According to reports in his native Brazil, United manager Jose Mourinho wants to sign Fred as a £35million replacement for the Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini, who reports claim the Red Devils have agreed to sell to Turkish giants Besiktas for £8million when the January transfer window opens.

Belgium midfielder Fellaini has become a favourite of the Portuguese manager Mourinho’s this season but is yet to agree to sign a new deal with his current contract with the club expires at the end of the season.

And it’s claimed Besiktas will be the next destination for the former Everton midfielder with a move to Istanbul looking set to be rubber-stamped when the transfer window reopens.

Marouane Fellaini signed for Manchester United in summer of 2013 from the Premier League outfit Everton for a £27.5m reported transfer fee. The 29-year-old midfielder has played in 142 matches so far and scored 19 goals for the club. The Former Toffees star won the FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Europe League cup titles with the Red Devils.
