According to the latest transfer news, Manchester United are reportedly planning to offer a new five-year contract deal to head coach Jose Mourinho.
The 54-year-old manager is only halfway through a three-year contract deal at Old Trafford, but the Red Devils hierarchy are seemingly prepared to place their long-term faith in the Portuguese tactician after they started to challenge on both the domestic and European front.
As per the reports from The Sun, Man United are prepared to hand Mourinho a deal until 2022, which is said to be worth £65m over the course of his contract.
The improved terms are understood to be a reward for the Red Devils sitting joint-top of the Premier League table with their arch rivals Manchester City, with both teams unbeaten after seven fixtures.
The Premier League giants only finished in sixth place last season, but the Special One was still able to deliver both the EFL Cup and Europa League.
Since arriving at the club in May 2016, the former Real Madrid and Chelsea boss has taken charge of 75 matches in all competitions, winning 46 and losing just 10.
