As per the Spanish media sources, Manchester United are set to complete a deal for Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata shortly and will announce the official transfer next week.
The Red Devils had an opening bid of £52m rejected by Real Madrid for the Spain international but Jose Mourinho’s side are confident of reaching in agreement in the coming days.
The 24-year-old Alvaro Morata is keen on leaving the Santiago Bernabeu after making just 19 starts under Zinedine Zidane last campaign and he’s been promised an important role at Old Trafford by Jose Mourinho.
The Special One gave him his debut in Madrid and the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic means Morata could lead the line for Man United after being reinstated into the Champions League.
According to the reports from COPE, Man United are confident of announcing Morata’s arrival next Tuesday or Wednesday.
Alongside the Los Blancos striker, Jose Mourinho also wants to sign a winger this summer but Man United’s move for Inter Milan attacker Ivan Perisic has hit a snag due to the Italian giants’ valuation of the Croatia international. Inter Milan are demanding £52m for the former Wolfsburg man but United are unwilling to raise their £34m bid.
